Factory-built housing isn’t one-size-fits-all. The difference between manufactured and modular homes comes down to building codes, installation, and financing—not quality.
Manufactured Homes
Manufactured homes are built in a controlled factory environment and constructed to the federal HUD Code, which governs design, safety, energy efficiency, and durability nationwide. They are transported to the site and installed on approved foundations, offering an efficient, cost-effective path to homeownership.
Modular Homes
Modular homes are also built in sections inside a factory, but they are constructed to the same state and local building codes as traditional site-built homes. Once delivered, the modules are assembled on a permanent foundation and are typically financed, appraised, and insured like conventional homes.
